Professional Background
Shaykh Shams Adduha is the founder of Mawarid Lifestyle and the Head Imam of Chelmsford Muslim Society. He co-founded Ebrahim College in 2003, serving as its director until 2019, where he contributed significantly to Islamic education and community development. He has also consulted for SOAS, University of London, to support the development of Islamic seminaries and continues to work as a consultant on Islamic education, the Muslim community, and related areas.
Education and Expertise
Shaykh Shams memorised the Qur’an and pursued Islamic Sciences at traditional seminaries in the UK (Dewsbury and Nottingham) and Bangladesh, where he earned his Shahadah al-Takmeel from Wifaqul Madaris al-‘Arabiyyah. After years of serving as an Imam and educator, he completed a Master’s in Islamic Studies at the University of London. He specialises in contextualising Islamic education for British Muslims and teaches Islamic theology, hadith studies, and jurisprudence.

Qur’anic Studies
In addition to his work with youth and the community, Ustadh Muhammad Alyan is a qualified teacher of Qur’an and Tajweed. He completed his Ijaazah in Hafs an ‘Asim under the guidance of Qari Bashir, equipping him with the knowledge and expertise to teach and mentor others in their Qur’anic journey. This foundation adds depth to his ability to guide and support individuals in both their spiritual and personal growth.
